The man of superior utility who has found himself at third base regularly with the Reds this season is having a fantastic year with Cincinnati and should be fodder for a club looking for someone who can play in many positions.

My role wouldn’t end up seeing a lot of action at third base if he was going to end up with the Braves. This is the work of Austin Riley. Nobody will take it.
However, with Ozzie Albies out, the Braves have a wide opening at second base. Drury can also see starts elsewhere on the court plus he’s more than capable of handling himself in both of my off-court positions as well.
Players as diverse as Drury are more desirable than the fantasy baseball owners they recruit. There’s a reason someone like Ian Happ of the Chicago Cubs is an incredibly desirable business target right now. His history of playing multiple positions makes him a target for almost any team. Like Hap, Drury is the person the GM has to trade with while they can figure things out later.
There should be no doubt that Drury can continue to play well even after leaving Cincinnati. He’s been a highly regarded young player with the Arizona Diamondbacks for years. A problem seeing him derailed his career once he joined the New York Yankees in 2018. Now that he plays well enough that one can claim he should have been an All-Star, it is no surprise to see him enter the Braves chat rumours.
Cincinnati has given Drury a chance this season and he has proven his worth. Atlanta, with zero out of the top 100, appears to be a good business partner with the Reds, who should be looking for a good but not too big deal for him.
